There are a few general tests that our clinic recommends if you are having trouble conceiving naturally. This is a listing of some optional testing we like to see done:

            1.     General Physical within the last year: male and female

2.     CBC Blood Work Up: male and female

3.     Female Hormonal Assays

4.     Male Hormonal Assays

5.     Fallopian Tube Blockage  (HSG) female

6.     Ultra Sound

7.     Semen Diagnostic Testing (40% of infertility is male issue)

Women who are trying to conceive naturally, sometimes do not feel comfortable going to a fertility specialist for testing.  Assisted Reproductive Techniques may be something that is not an option for them.  However, I highly recommend that you consider getting your fertility testing by a “fertility doctor” or an OB/GYN specializing in fertility (general physical excluded).  We personally feel that these are the doctors, clinicians, and staff that are the most experienced and will provide accurate testing.
